A detailed report on your install, checked against the manufacturer's guide, before the render goes on.
Facadia Inspections: inspections by people who know AAC.
Supplying your own installer? Book an installation check from Facadia Inspections, so the work is checked by someone other than your installer. We check your AAC panels against the manufacturer's installation guide for the brand you used, before render hides the fixings, joints and battens.
How it works
Site visit (physical inspection)
An inspector visits the site and checks what's visible on all elevations, with photos, against the manufacturer's guide.
That works out at about $1–2 per m² on a typical job.
Photo review included with your booking
Send photos of the work as it goes in, using our photo checklist. Attach them to the booking form or email them in. We review them with the site visit at no extra cost.
What we check
- Framing and stud spacing
- Damp course (DPC) at the base
- Sarking or wall wrap, and flashings
- Top hats packed out, straight and plumb
- Top hat battens: size, spacing, fixing, and breaks at control joints
- Panel layout and adhesive joints
- Fixings per panel, countersinking and corner zones
- Vertical and horizontal control joints
- Openings and lintels, corners and penetrations
Your written report
Every item is marked conforms, doesn't conform or couldn't verify, with the relevant guide clause and photos, and finishes with a clear fix list for your installer.
Sending your photos
Much of an AAC install gets hidden behind the panels: the damp course (DPC) at the base, the sarking, flashings, and top hats fixed, packed out and straight. Ask your installer to photograph each stage before it's covered. No app, no account:
- Print or download the photo checklist and give it to your installer.
- Take the photos as the job goes, in daylight, with a tape measure in shot where a size matters.
- Send them in: attach them when you book, or email them to [email protected] with the job address in the subject.
- We review them and visit the site, then send your written report and fix list.

Items not visible on the day or in your photos are marked "couldn't verify". Always follow the current manufacturer's guide for your system.
Why it works
Builders get peace of mind: problems are found before render, when they're cheap to fix, not after a crack or a leak or a question from the regulator. Installers do better work when they know it will be checked against the guide.

FAQ
Is this a building surveyor inspection?
No. It is a visual check of what we can see on the day and in the photos you send, against the manufacturer's installation guide, by someone other than your installer. It doesn't replace your building surveyor's mandatory inspections.
Do I need an app?
No. There's no app or account. Attach your photos to the booking form, or email them to us with your job address.
What if I don't send photos?
We can still visit, but we can only report on what is visible on the day. Anything already covered is marked "couldn't verify".
When should I book?
Before render covers the panels. For key stages, book a visit before the panels go on (frame, battens, DPC and wrap), and again once the panels are fixed.
Which brands do you check?
We check all the AAC panel systems we supply: Hebel, Nasahi, Eastland and Bestari. Each one is checked against that manufacturer's current design and installation guide.
