Home › Answers › Performance › Should I use 50mm or 75mm AAC panels?
Your building designer picks the thickness to meet NCC fire, acoustic and energy requirements. 50mm panels (such as Hebel PowerPanel50) are lighter and cost less per m². 75mm panels (such as PowerPanelXL) are thicker, with higher fire, acoustic and thermal values in the manufacturers' data.
At Facadia, Hebel PowerPanel50 is $33.00 per m² inc GST and PowerPanelXL 75mm is $43.45 per m² inc GST.
Hebel 50mm panels come in packs of 15 and Hebel 75mm in packs of 10.
The two thicknesses use different certificates and installation guides (Hebel CM40233 and HELIT181 for PowerPanel50; CM40049 and HELIT016 for PowerPanelXL), so follow the guide for the system you choose.
